If you’re a U.S.-based creator earning income through Spring, you may be required to report your earnings to the IRS. Below is important information about how tax forms are issued.
Who issues my 1099?
Spring does not issue 1099-NEC forms for payments processed through third-party payment providers such as PayPal or Payoneer.
Per IRS guidelines, when payments are processed through third-party settlement organizations (TPSOs), those providers are responsible for issuing applicable tax forms.
If you were paid via PayPal
If you received payouts through PayPal, PayPal is responsible for issuing any required tax forms (such as Form 1099-K).
Please log in to your PayPal account directly to check for tax documents.
If you have questions about a missing 1099, you will need to contact PayPal support.
If you were paid via Payoneer
If you received payouts through Payoneer, Payoneer is responsible for issuing any required tax forms.
We are currently working with Payoneer to ensure accounts are properly configured for tax form distribution. If you have not received a tax form but believe you should have, please:
Log in to your Payoneer account to check for available tax documents
Contact Payoneer support directly for questions about issuance
We will provide updates if additional action is required.
Why doesn’t Spring issue 1099s?
Under IRS guidelines, companies should not issue duplicate 1099 forms when payments are made via third-party settlement organizations like PayPal or Payoneer. These payment providers are responsible for reporting.
To avoid duplicate reporting, Spring does not issue 1099-NEC forms for payments processed through these providers.
Important Reminder
Even if you do not receive a 1099 form, you are still responsible for reporting all taxable income to the IRS.
